Mission
Education leaders deserve clarity, support, and confidence to face today’s challenges. We stand beside educators to make sense of complexity, implement lasting solutions, and tell their story. When leaders are empowered, schools grow stronger—and students succeed.
Vision
Education systems where leaders have the clarity to act, the insight to decide wisely, and the capacity to sustain success—so every student thrives.
Our Story
PAVE (Proven, Affordable, Versatile, and Effective) was founded by a team of nationally recognized educators and researchers who saw, firsthand, how complexity and fragmentation were holding schools back. For Dawn Dolby, Carol McElvain, Shazia Miller, and Nick Pinchok, it has always been personal—rooted in immigrant stories of resilience, their early experiences as classroom teachers and administrators, and a deep belief that public education can and must transform lives.
From leading groundbreaking school research in Chicago, to shaping afterschool programs nationwide, to addressing student performance through the Closing the Achievement Gaps Task Force, to leading the Center for School Improvement, our founders have spent decades turning evidence into action.
With over 100 years of combined experience, trusted relationships across states and districts, and work that has influenced policy from New York to Texas to California, PAVE was built to provide leaders with the clarity, confidence, and capacity they need to succeed.
